Adam has been teaching yoga internationally to people of all ages and abilities for over fifteen years, but yoga has been a big part of his life much longer. He began practicing yoga in high school as a means of improving flexibility to enhance athletic performance. What started out as an experiment with a supplemental stretching routine eventually evolved into a way of life.
Adam has studied and practiced many different styles of yoga and meditation in ashrams and monasteries in India and in Thailand, as well as in a variety of studios in the United States. He has also explored some of the world’s religions and mystical traditions academically.
Whether teaching group classes or giving private coaching sessions; leading trainings, workshops, or retreats, Adam aims to share the gift of yoga in a balanced, logical, systematic way. Adam is known for his meditative approach, which brings relaxation to the physical body, calm and focus to the mind, and overall feelings of grounding, centeredness, and well-being. His style is an amalgam of classical Hatha Yoga and Buddhist thought, with insights from some of the world’s time-honored spiritual traditions and healing modalities. In teaching yoga, Adam leads students on a journey from the physical aspect (with an initial focus on alignment) into the deepest possible levels of the being. He encourages students to practice mindfulness, awareness, and presence, as moment-to-moment gateways into stillness and true Yoga, union with the divine.
